Sochi hockey player Artem Ivanyuzhenkov said he could not agree on fights in English
Artem Ivanyuzhenkov, forward of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) club Sochi, who played in the American Hockey League (AHL), explained the reluctance of local hockey players to fight him. His words are quoted by Sport24.
“I wanted to play in the AHL, but a little bit was not enough. It was necessary to fight there, but you can’t agree in English, it’s hard. I said, they didn’t understand me, I’m waiting. There were no suitable moments, ”said the athlete. He stressed that he wanted to act as a power forward, but no one wanted to fight him.
On August 15, Ivanyuzhenkov spoke about the habits he had acquired during his life in the United States. According to the player, after returning to his homeland, he greeted strangers for a while and smiled at them on the street.
Ivanzhenkov was in the San Jose Sharks system for three years. The Russian has not played a single match in the National Hockey League. The striker is the son of a State Duma deputy and former Minister of Sports Boris Ivanyuzhenkov.
