The party for Napoli fans to celebrate winning the “Scudetto” will be postponed again. That’s because vice-leader Lazio beat Sassulo this Wednesday, 2-0, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. The result does not guarantee the mathematical title to Napoli.
The distance between the top Italian Championship reduced to 15 points, but Napoli are still playing in the round and can extend the advantage. Lazio’s victory, however, brings the vacancy closer to the next champions leagues and takes the team to 64 points.
The first goal of the game was scored by Felipe Anderson, in the 14th minute of the match, with assistance from fellow Brazilian Marcos Antonio. The defensive midfielder made a long throw that found the attacker invading the area and stretched to send it to the net. In the final injury time of the match, Toma Bašić received a pass in front of the goal and increased the score.
