Barcelona scores at the end and beats Osasuna in the Spanish Championship

Opening the 33rd round of The league, leaders Barcelona beat Osasuna this Tuesday by 1-0 at the Camp Nou. Full-back Jordi Alba came off the bench in the second half to score the winning goal at the end of the match.

With the result, Barça reached 82 points and increased their advantage at the top of the Spanish Championship to 14 points, but Real Madrid can decrease if they beat Real Sociedad in this round. Osasuna, on the other hand, has 44 points on the table.

The game

Playing away from home against the top of the table, Osasuna went to Camp Nou to defend and try to threaten on the counterattacks. However, the mission was complicated when defender Herrando was expelled in the 26th minute of the game.

Raphinha and Araújo had chances to open the scoring, but did not take advantage of the opportunities. Gavi left the pitch in the 35th minute after feeling pain and was replaced by striker Ansu Fati.

On the return of the break, the scenario of the confrontation remained the same, with Barcelona controlling the actions with the ball, while Osasuna was on the prowl in search of spaces to counterattack.

Ansu Fati and De Jong came face to face with Aitor Fernández, but the Spanish goalkeeper won and saved the shots. Iker Muñoz had Osasuna’s clearest chance in the match and Ter Stegen made a great save to avoid the opponent’s goal.

In the pressure of the final minutes of the game, Lewandowski dominated in the area and crossed. The ball reached De Jong, who only adjusted it for Jordi Alba to finish first. The Spanish full-back hit the corner of the goal and secured Barça’s victory in the 40th minute of the second half.
