Details emerged in the case of a seven-year-old student beaten to death by a coach

The Sumgayit City Court in Azerbaijan has placed judo and sambo coach Mehman Khalilov in custody for four months after beating seven-year-old student Farid Bakarov to death at a sports school. Details about the case are reported by Qafqazinfo.

During the investigation, it was established that, after Khalilov broke the student’s neck, he told relatives that the child was injured as a result of a fall. The coach took the ward to the hospital without warning the family. Then he sent Bakarov home. The family members saw the boy’s condition and again took him to the hospital, where he died.

The murder of a child became known earlier on May 2. Khalilov beat the boy and kicked him. A seven-year-old child suffered a broken neck and was taken to a children’s hospital, where he died.

A criminal case was initiated against Khalilov under the article of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan “Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, resulting in the death of the victim through negligence.” The coach has been arrested.
