Euskaraz irakurri: Itzulia Women 2023: 2nd stage in profila, ibilbidea eta ordutegia (Gasteiz-Amurrio, 133.2 km)

The 133.2 kilometers that includes its route convert to the second stage of the Itzulia Women 2023which starts at Vitoria-Gasteiz and ends in Amurrioin The largest one of this edition of the race. It will take place almost entirely in alavawith the sole exception of the passage that it foresees through the Biscayan city of Orduña, and will put the cyclists to the test, among other difficulties, with the ascent to two scoring ports for the Grand Prix of the Mountain, both from 3rd category.

In this context, once the departure has been carried out in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the runners will go to Nanclares de la Oca, and then to Mimbredo. The port of The Tejeraof category 3, with a three-kilometre climb at an average gradient of 6.5%, is located at kilometer 28, and Barrota and Subijana de Álava will be the next places through which the Itzulia passes, before reaching Goiuri and transiting by Orduna.

At kilometer 87.1, Amurrio will witness the first special sprint of this second stage, just before the ascent to the port of malkuartu, 3rd (3.3 kilometers, at 4.7%); the banner of that port is at kilometer 102.8.

backedat kilometer 115.9, will be the point at which the cyclists try to achieve first place in the second special sprint of the day; twelve kilometers later, at 127.7, the peloton will have to climb Lezama, which is not a scoring climb for the Mountain jersey, but which, given that it is only five kilometers from Amurrio’s finish line, can decide who wins in the Álava town, or, at least, who is left out of the fight for victory.
