Euskaraz irakurri: Itzulia Women 2023: 1st stage in profila, ibilbidea eta ordutegia (Etxebarria – Markina-Xemein, 122.2 km)

The first stage of the Itzulia Women 2023 going to begin in etxebarriain front of the Eika Cooperative, and is going to conclude in Markina Xemein. With a tour of 122.2 kilometerswill be developed for the most part on roads of Biscayalthough a section of the race will take place in Gipuzkoa. The route prepared by the organization foresees the ascent to two scoring ports on this first day one of 3rd category and another, with less than eight kilometers to go, of 2nd.

The peloton, after leaving etxebarriawill go to ondarroaand will then go through lekeitio, Ereno and Arrazolabefore facing the first mountainous difficulty of this Itzulia: gontzagaraigana. It is a 3rd category port, which involves an ascent of 2.6 kilometers, with an average gradient of 6.5%; the banner of the Gran Premio de la Montañana will be located at kilometer 67.

The race, shortly, will reach Markina Xemeinwhere, at kilometer 75.3 of the stage, the first special sprint of the 2023 edition of Itzulia Women. Next, the cyclists will enter Gipuzkoa, and will pass through mutriku and by elgoibarwhich is where the second special sprint of the day, at kilometer 107.9.

Immediately begins, at that point of the test, the ascent to the port of Urkaregi, in the 2nd category (5.8 kilometers, at 4.6%); can be decisive, because it is located at kilometer 114.4 of the route, just eight from the arrival of Markina Xemeinwhere whoever passes first under the finish banner will have the honor of being the first winner of Itzulia 2023, and will don, as if that were not enough, the first leader’s jersey of the race.
