Porto wins for the Portuguese and continues in pursuit of leader Benfica

This Sunday, three matches ended the 30th round of the Portuguese Championship. Estoril, Porto e Sporting won their matches against Santa Clara, Boavista and Famalicão, respectively.

Porto suffered, but beat Boavista 1-0 and are still chasing leader Benfica. Mehdi Taremi scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot and in the second half. To further complicate the game for the vice-leaders, Iván Marcano was sent off in the 21st minute of the final stage.

With the triumph, Porto remains in second place, with 73 points, four behind leader Benfica. Boavista, on the other hand, is in 12th place, with 37 points, and loses the chance to climb some positions in the middle of the table.

Sporting was also one of the giants that won in the round. The club beat Famalicão 2-1 with goals from Hidemasa Morita and Ricardo Esgaio. Sebastián Coates scored against and reduced in the second half. With the victory, Sporting reaches 64 points and remains fourth. Famalicão, on the other hand, is in seventh place, with 42 points, and loses the chance to get closer to the G5.

In a fight at the bottom of the table, Estoril beat Santa Clara 3-0 with goals from Alejandro Marqués, Rodrigo Martins and Brazilian and player loaned from Palmeiras, Carlos Eduardo. With the result, Estoril reaches 28 points and moves away from Z3, but remains in 15th. Santa Clara, on the other hand, is in 19th and last place, with only 16 points.
