Fans of Lokomotiv Sofía made a curious protest regarding the use of VAR in football. The fans of the Bulgarian club blocked one of the cameras that would be used to check the controversial moves in Wednesday’s game against CSKA 1948.
The match had a high degree of importance – it was valid for the semi-final of the Bulgarian Cup. The fans used a flag that completely took the camera angle of the VAR that was in an elevated sector of the stadium.
Even with the advantage of playing at home, Lokomotiv Sofía ended up defeated by 3-2 by CSKA 1948 in the first leg of the semifinal of the Bulgarian Cup. The return match is scheduled for May 10.
Great moment in Bulgaria 🇧🇬!!! Boycott of the VAR by the fans!!!
