The Ministry of Internal Affairs supported the sale of beer at stadiums in the presence of a fan identification system
The Ministry of Internal Affairs made a statement about the possibility of returning beer to the stadiums. The words of the representative of the department Valery Botvin are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Botvin stressed that the ministry supports the initiative if there is a system for identifying fans at tournaments, of which Fan ID is a part. In addition, these competitions must be determined by the list of the government of the Russian Federation. “If these requirements of ours are observed, we do not object to the adoption of the draft federal law,” he said.
Earlier, the President of the Russian Premier League (RPL) Alexander Alaev called for the return of beer to the stadiums. “We want the stands to fill up. For the fans, this will be an additional argument. I call on everyone who even acts as an adversary, let’s find an opportunity, ”he said.
The ban on the sale of beer at sports facilities has been in force throughout the country since January 1, 2005. During the World Cup in Russia, beer returned to the stadiums as an exception.
