Euskaraz irakurri: Ethan Hayterrek irabazi du bigarren stage eta leader jarri da

the british runner Ethan Hayater (INEOS Grenadiers) took the lead in the Tour de Romandie after imposing himself with authority on the sprint in the second stagedisputed over a course of 162.7 kilometers between Morteau and La Chaux-de-Fonds.

The stage started without James Knox and Sean Quinn and with several riders hoping for a break that ended up forming Gleb Brussenskiy, Tom Bohli and Julien Bernard. The leading trio had a lead of almost four minutes until the Jumbo-Visma began to shake up the peloton.

Beyond what was happening in the lead, the pace took its toll on Ethan Vernon, who was left off the hook and with that he gave up defending the overall leader’s jersey at the end of the day.

The arrival of Le Communal opened the door to various attempts, which increased with six kilometers to go. Thus, the arrival at the sprint was inevitable. In that set nobody could cough the British Ethan Hayter. Second was the Spanish Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) and third the Frenchman Romain Bardet (Team DSM).

The triumph allows Hayter to rise momentarily to the top of the drawer and accumulate 18 during his career, two of them this year after also winning the premiere of the Itzulia.

Second overall is the Norwegian Tobias Foss (Jumbo-Visma) to six seconds, the same disadvantage with which the Frenchman has Rémi Cavagna (Soudal-Quick Step).

On Friday will be held the third stagean 18.75-kilometre time trial starting and finishing in Châtel-Saint-Denis.
