The athlete had 199 points more than second-placed Jude Bellingham with 119, the biggest difference between winner and runner-up in the history of the award.
Despite suffering from injuries, the Spaniard stood out with the shirt of Barcelona and the Spanish team. Pedri reached the final of the Tokyo Olympic Games with the Spanish team, being defeated by Brazil in the last stage. At Euro, he managed to reach the semifinals, but was overtaken by champion Italy.
Pedri joins the likes of Haaland (2020), Mbappé (2017) and Aguero (2007), who also won the Young Player of the Year award. Representing Brazil, Alexandre Pato (2009) and Anderson (2008) are on the list.
