This Saturday, Inter Milan visited Empoli for the 31st round of the Italian Championship and won 3-0 at Estadio Carlo Castellani. Romelu Lukaku scored two goals and Lautaro Martínez closed the away victory.
After a first half without many emotions and clear goalscoring chances, Inter opened the scoring on the way back from the break. At 3 minutes of the second stage, the visiting team combined several pass tables at the entrance to the area and the ball was left for striker Lukaku to kick hard with his right leg, with no chance of defense for the opposing goalkeeper.
Empoli tried to react in the match and had opportunities to draw, but they didn’t take advantage. In the final stretch of the match, when the hosts launched the attack, Inter punished on the counterattack. In the 31st minute, Lukaku received on the left, pedaled and invaded the area. The Belgian striker hit a beautiful cross kick to extend the advantage.

There was still time for Lautaro Martínez to score his goal in the match. In the 42nd minute of the second half, Inter again took advantage of a counterattack, this time led by Lukaku. The striker gave a pass to his Argentine teammate to leave in front of the goal and Lautaro touched the goalkeeper’s exit to decree the victory by 3 to 0.
With the result, Inter Milan takes 5th place in the Serie A italiana, with 54 points, but can still be overtaken by rival Milan, who are still playing in the round. This Saturday’s triumph broke a five-match winless streak for the Nerazzurri team. On the other hand, Empoli is in 15th place in the table, with 32 points.
