Chess player Nepomniachtchi draws in the tenth game of the match for the world title with Liren

Russian grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi played a draw in the tenth game of the match for the world chess title with the Chinese Ding Liren. The broadcast was conducted on the YouTube channel of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

32-year-old Nepomniachtchi, for whom this is the second attempt to win the world chess crown, played with black pieces. The game ended on the 45th move. After the tenth game, the Russian took the lead – 5.5:4.5.

The next game of the match, which takes place in Astana, will take place on April 24. The winner of the tournament will be the first chess player to score at least 7.5 points.

The current world champion is Norwegian Magnus Carlsen, who previously refused to defend the title, citing a lack of motivation. In December 2021, he beat Nepomniachtchi 7.5:3.5.
