Barcelona beats Chelsea to lead in Women’s Champions League semi-final

On Saturday morning, Barcelona defeated Chelsea 1-0 in the first leg of the semifinals of the Champions League feminine. Playing at Stamford Bridge, England, Norwegian striker Caroline Hansen scored the winning goal.

Barça opened the scoring of the duel after just four minutes. Hansen shot down the right, brought the ball into the middle and risked a shot from outside the area. With no chances of defense for the Chelsea goalkeeper, the ball just stopped at the back of the net.

Even away from home, the Spanish team dominated the match and almost expanded with a header by Marta Torrejón, which stopped the crossbar. However, Barcelona saw their starting side Lucy Bronze leave the field due to injury and could be missing on the return.

The next meeting between the teams will be this Thursday, in Spain. Therefore, Barça start with the advantage of a goal for the return game and a tie qualifies the team for the final of the Champions League feminine.
