The summer season has opened in Peterhof. A solemn launch of the fountains of the Grand Cascade and the fountain “Samson” took place.
Acting General Director of the Peterhof State Museum Reserve Roman Kovrikov noted that Peterhof had planned a large event program this year, which would include not only the traditional Spring and Autumn fountain festivals, but also concerts and festivals in the parks of the museum-reserve.
Andrey Biryukov, head of the department of fountains and hydraulic structures, said that the process of preparing the maintenance of the fountain system for the summer season begins in the fall. During this time, control valves, water intake chambers were diagnosed, and cobblestone paving at cracker fountains was repaired. “Everything that we had planned, we managed to do everything. In the spring, we only had to open the control gates, fill the fountain ponds with water, flush the entire fountain system, install nozzles and carry out commissioning. We haven’t had any problems this season. The entire fountain system is completely ready for its use,” he added.
From April 22 to October 15, 2023, the fountains of the Lower Park will operate daily from 10:00 to 19:45, the Lower Park is open from 9:00 to 20:00. Tickets to the Lower Park can be purchased in advance online on the official website of the museum-reserve, or on the day of the visit at the box office and terminals of the park.
