Casemiro rejects comparison between Sevilla and Real Madrid in the Europa League: “There are still 8 titles to go”

O Manchester United was deleted from Europa League this Thursday, after losing 3-0 by Sevilla. At the end of the match, Casemiro was asked about a possible comparison between his former club, Real Madridand Sevilla by force in European competitions.

“Well, they still have eight titles to go before Real Madrid”, declared the Brazilian midfielder to Movistar Plus+, as he left the field.

In the last ten years, Sevilla won four Europa League titles and even won a third championship between 2014 and 2016. In all, the team has six trophies in the competition. This Thursday, they eliminated Manchester United in the quarterfinals and advanced to the semifinals.

In the first leg, the English managed to open a score of 2 to 0, but Sevilla sought a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford. At the Jamón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium, for the second leg, the Spanish team defeated United by 3-0 and secured the classification.

Casemiro played in every minute of the match, but did not prevent the elimination of the Red Devils. Casemiro arrived at Manchester United this season after wearing Real Madrid’s shirt as a starter for nearly seven years. During this period, he won five titles of the Champions Leagueincreasing the merengue team’s collection to 14 trophies in the tournament.

With the drop in the Europa League, it remains for Manchester United to play the final rounds of the English Championship and face Brighton in the semifinal of the FA Cup, a duel that takes place this Sunday, in Wembley, from 12:30 pm (from Brasilia).
