He Lointek Gernika achieved a hard-fought victory in Maloste against Casademont Zaragoza (75-69) in the first leg of the ‘playoff’ of the quarterfinals of the Women’s Endesa League and will defend a six-point lead in the second leg on Sunday, April 23.

It was in the last five minutes that the Basque team managed to stretch a score that had constant alternatives and never differences of more than four points for one side or the other.

Already in the first quarter, Gernika began to lead with a 13-10 lead, defeated by Zaragoza (16-19) before finishing supported by their superior rebounding.
