Tretyak spoke about alarming signals from the NHL about the participation of players in the Olympics

There are alarms coming from the National Hockey League (NHL) regarding player participation in the 2022 Olympics. RIA Novosti was told about this by the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (FHR) Vladislav Tretyak.

“God grant that NHL players come to Beijing. There are a lot of patients now, matches are postponed, so there are many alarming signals. I also know that the NHL players’ union is not very happy with the rules of stay in China, ”said Tretyak. He added that if everything continues in the same spirit, the Games may be left without representatives of the league.

In October, NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly announced that the league could ban ice hockey players from the Olympics. This is due to a possible exacerbation of the situation with the coronavirus pandemic.

In early September, the organization officially announced that it would allow players to compete at the Beijing Games. The competition will take place in February.
