Russian MMA fighter Vyacheslav Datsik said he showed all his power to Jeff Monson
Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Vyacheslav Datsik appreciated the victory over compatriot Jeff Monson at the REN TV Fight Club tournament. His words are quoted by Sport24.
“What is it like to beat a deputy? Not the first deputy, I hope not the last. I showed him all the power so that his soul could feel it, his breathing weakened. Why punch him in the face? Why kill a respected person? – said the athlete. He called the opponent a respected fighter, for whom he does not feel any negativity.
The duel between 51-year-old Monson and 42-year-old Datsik took place earlier on August 6 and lasted all three rounds. The latter won by unanimous decision.
Datsik gained popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In his first official fight, he knocked out the future champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Andrey Orlovsky.
Monson is known for his performances in MMA and grappling. He has won the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship twice. In MMA, the American won 60 victories and suffered 26 losses.
