A source in law enforcement agencies of Astrakhan called two versions of the death of the Russian handball player “Astrakhanochka” Victoria Divak. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
The source said that the investigation is considering two versions of what happened – an accident and suicide. It is noted that the criminal version of what happened is not discussed due to the fact that the 29-year-old athlete was alone in the apartment with the door locked from the inside.
The death of the athlete became known on April 17. It was reported that Divak fell from the eighth floor of an apartment building. It was clarified that no note was found at the scene. A handball player’s mobile phone was found on the balcony, as well as a glass of wine.
Divak is a three-time Russian champion with Dynamo-Sinara. The point guard is also known for her performances for Kuban, Astrakhanochka, which she transferred to in 2021, the German Halle-Neustadt, the French Achenheim Truchtersheim and the Belarusian Gomel. In 2009, together with the Russian junior team, Divak won silver at the European Championship.
