Skier Sergei Ustyugov won the 70 km freestyle race at the Russian Championships. The results are available on the website of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR).

The athlete representing the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug completed the marathon in 2 hours 24 minutes and 55.3 seconds. In second place is Moscow skier Dmitry Kondrashov, 4.1 seconds back. Third place was taken by Sergey Volkov of the Republic of Tatarstan, 47.5 seconds back.

On April 12, FLGR President Elena Vyalbe said that foreign skiers should envy the Russians. In her opinion, domestic athletes study Mother Russia and its unlimited possibilities, while foreigners do not have such an opportunity.

Russian skiers miss international starts due to sanctions from the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS). Skiers were suspended for the first time in March 2022.
