Brazil beats Venezuela in the first round of the hexagonal final of the South American sub-17

This Tuesday, the Brazilian under-17 team started the dispute for the final hexagonal of the South American Championship of the category. At the Atahualpa Stadium, in Quito, Ecuador, the team led by Phelipe Leal beat Venezuela 2-0, in the first round of this stage.

With this result, the Brazilians have three points, tied with Argentina in the first positions.

In the first phase, Brazil had 10 points and was in the lead of Group A. There were three wins and one draw. Now, the Selection faces Paraguay, on Friday, at 4 pm (Brasília time), at the Casa Blanca Stadium. On the same day, Venezuela faces Argentina, at 18:30.

The game

Brazil opened the scoring with five minutes on the clock. After a corner kick, Da Mata climbed higher than Venezuela’s defense and headed in to put the national team ahead. Shortly after, the opponent took a risk from afar with Sequera, who sent it outside. In the search for the second goal, Brazil still hit a ball on the crossbar.

At 32, Dudu expanded. The number 10 received Kauã Elias, cleared the marking, invaded the area, and finished with no chance for the Venezuelan goalkeeper.

On the return to the second stage, Venezuela reduced the disadvantage, at seven minutes, also in set pieces. Martinez took a corner kick in the area and Arango headed in Phillipe Gabriel’s corner.
