Guardiola plans duel against Bayern, for the Champions League: “They come to win”

This Tuesday, at 4 pm (Brasília time), Manchester City e Bayern Munchen face each other at Etihad Stadium, in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Champions League. In an interview leading up to the clash, City coach Pep Guardiola spoke about the pressure of winning a competition title.

“It’s an honor to be here against an elite club like Bayern Munich. I’m happy, you need to deserve this and play well. Six years ago, when I arrived here, I was told: ‘You are here to win the Champions League’. And that comes out every season. The games are so difficult, but the most important thing is to compete and do our best”, said the Spanish coach.

Guardiola also praised Thomas Tuchel, coach newly arrived at Bayern Munich, and designed the duel against the German.

“He is very creative, has good build and connections, good sprinters, attacks spaces well. He went to Paris and did a great job, not only winning Ligue 1 but reaching the Champions League final, playing the way they did. Chelsea also did a great job.”

“We’ve seen the form that Tuchel has given Bayern Munich, but maybe tomorrow he’ll do something new. We’re always trying to find out. Bayern aren’t a team that play thinking about settling things in the return game, they come to win,” he concluded. the coach who has been at Manchester City since July 2016.

The return game against the Germans is scheduled for April 19, a Wednesday, at 4 pm (Brasília time), at the Allianz Arena.
