Summary of the match Espanyol – Athletic Club
The balance marked the start of the match. Neither of the two teams took excessive risks and both calibrated their few approaches. The Catalans sought to get the ball out from behind and found solutions to the rival’s high pressure, although there were no clear chances in the early stages.
Anyway, Inaki Williams broke this script and equalized with a stroke of the pen in minute 22. The attacker took advantage of a long pass from Daniel Garcia to sign a career on the right wing. His cross shot was a hard blow to the host (0-1).
Espanyol did not react and, in fact, Athletic once again disturbed the blue and whites with a shot from vesga that Pacheco caught. The goalkeeper reappeared to catch a header from sancet after a lateral center, again, from the right.
In the final stretch, Joselu made a move and sent the ball wide by very little and Braithwaite scored, but his goal ended annulled by the VAR just before the referee pointed the way to the changing rooms.
In the resumption, the clash began with more rhythm. Espanyol won in presence in the rival area. Athletic, calmer, was not in any notable trouble and, in fact, continued to create danger in Pacheco’s domain: Iñaki Williams caressed the second in minute 68 after forcing the goalkeeper to show off.
In minute 70, the blue and white footballers claimed a penalty at the hands of yuri. The referee ruled it out. His indignation turned drama in 1975, when Nico Williams sentenced the duel after completing a great collective play (0-2).
the amount of darder in the 90th minute hope was kindled, but there was no time for the epic (1-2).
