MTPE: Private employment grew 6.2% in December 2022

According to Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE)—based on the Electronic Form (PLAME and T-Registro)—andhe private formal employment grew 6.2% as of December last year. It is followed by other items such as transport (7.1%), commerce (5.5%) and financial services (4.0%), with increases of 22,000, 35,000 and 5,000 jobs respectively.

Likewise, private formal employment in companies with 11 to 100 workers registered growth of 8.1%, placing it above 6.1% of companies with 1 to 10 workers and 5.6% of those companies with 101 workers. to more workers. The expansion reached a higher rate in Huancavelica (23.5%), followed by Huánuco (15.3%) and Amazonas (14.6%).

It should be noted that the MTPE indicated that the December 2022 remuneration also presented an increase of 4.4% and reached S/ 2,661 per month. This figure was above what was achieved in the same month in 2021 (S/ 2,549).

In teleworking and/or remote work conditions, 211,000 workers were registered in the Electronic Payroll, a decrease of 16.1% in relation to December 2021. Workers under this modality represented 5.2% of the total workers in the formal sector private.
