The two teams will face each other only three times in history. The English have an advantage in retrospect, with two wins and one defeat.
Brazil reaches the Finalissima after winning its eighth Copa América title in December last year, against Colombia. The game ended 1-0, with a goal by Debinha, from the penalty spot.
In all, there were six wins in six games in the tournament. In goals, 20 scored and none conceded. The triumph meant that the team qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and for the World Cup.
The Pia Sundhage technique has an important lack. Marta, with a left posterior biceps femoris injury, was cut from the list and will not be available. Goalkeeper Lorena and attackers Ludmila and Debinha are injured and cannot play.
It is worth remembering that midfielder Duda Sampaio and striker Nycole Raysla were also cut from the squad due to injury.
England, meanwhile, beat Germany to become champions of the Women’s Euro Cup for the first time. The selection beat the opponent by 2 to 1, in overtime.
