Nantes beats Lyon at home and advances to the French Cup final

In a match valid for the semifinals of the french cup, held this Wednesday, Lyon visited Nantes at the Stade de la Beaujoire. The confrontation ended with a 1-0 victory for the hosts, thanks to a goal by Ludovic Blas. Nantes are waiting for the winner of the clash between d’Annecy and Toulouse to find out who will be their opponents in the final.

The two teams return to the field this weekend, at French Championship. At home, Nantes faces Monaco, while Lyon receives Rennes.

In the first half, the teams played a little busy game and did not create many chances to score. The hosts even opened the scoring with Moutoussamy after Lovren’s failure, but the goal was disallowed by VAR for offside. The match therefore went into the break tied at 0-0.

At 12 minutes of the second half, Nantes managed to clear the scoreboard. Blas received a launch in the area, dominated the chest and kicked hard, scoring a beautiful goal. Lyon even tried to grow in the match, but could not get past the opposing defense, which played a very safe game.
