Rublev lost and was left without the semifinals of the final ATP tournament

Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev did not make it to the semifinals of the final tournament of the Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP). The correspondent of “Lenta.ru” informs about it.

The 24-year-old Russian athlete lost in the decisive match of the group stage. Rublev’s rival was the Norwegian Kasper Ruud. Rublev was defeated with a score of 6: 2, 5: 7, 6: 7 (5: 7). Thus, he was left without participation in the semifinals.

The pair of Ruud will be made by another representative of Russia, Daniil Medvedev. Previously, he was stronger than the Italian Yannick Sinner. Serb Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev from Germany will meet in another semifinal.

Rublev ranks fifth in the ATP singles ranking. His opponent Ruud is number eight in the world.

Rublev became the winner in ten ATP tournaments. Eight of them are in singles. At the Tokyo Olympics, he won gold in the mixed double with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
