Mexican referee suspended 12 games for kicking player between legs with knee
Mexican referee Fernando Hernandez Gomez was penalized for hitting a player. This was reported on the website of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF).
The incident occurred on April 2 in the match of the 13th round between “America” and “Leon” (2:2). During a dispute with the players and issuing warnings, the referee hit the Leon football player with his knee between his legs.
Later, the referee apologized for his behavior, but this did not help him avoid punishment – the referee was disqualified for 12 games. It is noted that in the event of a repeated violation, more severe sanctions may be applied to the specialist.
Earlier, Russian hockey referee Alexander Cherenkov was disqualified until the end of the 2022/2023 season. During the meeting of the Open Championship of Moscow, where players born in 2006 played, the referees broke up the fight and the referee tripped one of the hockey players. As a result, he hit his head on the ice and was injured.
