Elena Vyalbe said that she was afraid to jump into the water head down
Three-time Olympic champion and head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe spoke about her main fear. It is reported by “Championship”.
“I never, even as a child, jumped into the water upside down. Many persuaded me that every one of my children and grandchildren can dive upside down, but I can’t. I look at them and rejoice, but I myself am afraid to try it, ”said Vyalbe. The head of the FLGR added that he can jump into the water with his feet down from any height.
On March 7, Vyalbe announced that she would refuse to let domestic skiers go to other national teams. “If one of the members of the Russian team now decides that he wants to leave the country, I definitely won’t sign such a paper for anyone,” she said.
On September 22 last year, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation denied Russian athletes admission to international tournaments for the 2022/2023 season. Skiers were suspended for the first time in March 2022.
