This Monday, Arouca visited Famalicão at the end of the 26th round of the Portuguese Championship and won by 1-0. Morlaye Sylla scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 48th minute of the second half.
With the result, Arouca reaches the G5, with 41 points conquered, and is in fifth place. Famalicão, on the other hand, is in tenth place, with 33 points, and is fighting to leave the middle of the table and get closer to the top squad.
Famalicão’s next match is against Paços de Ferreira, on Saturday, at 2 pm (Brasília time), away from home. Arouca now faces Marítimo, at home, also on Saturday, at 11:30 am. Both games will be valid for the 27th round of the Primeira Liga.

The game
Arouca started the match controlling possession of the ball, but creating few chances to score in the first moments. Gradually, the home team found themselves on the field and finished in some opportunities, but they didn’t pose much danger to the opponent’s goal. The first half, then, ended with few chances to score and just one accurate finish, by Arouca.
The second stage had the same face as the first: some submissions, but very few accurate kicks. Possession of the ball was more balanced between the two teams in the last 45 minutes, but the chances did not appear. When it looked like the match was heading for a lukewarm 0-0, a penalty was scored in favor of Arouca after VAR review, in the 48th minute, and Morlaye Sylla converted the kick.
