Chelsea caretaker manager says Graham Potter’s work was ‘incredible’

This Monday, the interim coach of the chelseaBruno Saltor, gave a press conference. Last Sunday, Graham Potter was fired and the former player assumed the position until management hires a new name for the post. The Spanish commander praised Potter’s work and said he will try to “keep the process going.

“If I’m here now it’s because Graham and the club felt it was the right move. I’m just here to help the club as best I can,” he began.

“I’m here now, trying to keep the process going. We try to keep up with it as best we can. I think Graham has done an incredible job. Football is a really complex business and we have to keep going,” he added.

Afterwards, Bruno pointed out that, despite being shaken by Potter’s dismissal, the squad needs to focus on the next match, against Liverpool, this Tuesday, at 4 pm (Brasília time), at Stamford Bridge, for the English Championship.

“I haven’t been able to see the players yet. We have an afternoon session planned,” he said. “At the end of the day we are all responsible, we have to focus on Tuesday’s game (against Liverpool) and that is the energy we are working on.

In a disappointing season, Chelsea are not only in the 11th round of the Premier League, they are also out of other domestic competitions.

Thus, winning the Champions League is the team’s last hope. For the first leg of the quarterfinals, the Londoners will face Real Madrid on the 12th, at 4 pm, as a visitor, at the Santiago Bernabéu. The return will be at the same time, on the 18th, at home, at Stamford Bridge.
