Dixon Arroyo did not register at the invitation of coach Miguel Rondelli for the match that Emelec will hold this Saturday with Delfín, as a guest, for the fourth date of the Pro League. The measure coincides with the formal statement of the electric controller, who assures that the club has open accounts with him.
Last Thursday, José Pileggi Véliz, president of Emelec, was asked about Arroyo’s position and replied in an angry tone: “You have to ask him.” The manager added: “There is no (abnormal) situation. We are up to date with our obligations and everything will be disciplinary with the person who caused this (the team’s decision to stop training as a reserve for the Guayaquil midfielder).”
Arroyó clarified that he did not sue Emelec and instead sent a notice to the Pro League to inform the tournament organizer of the employment situation he claims he is going through.
‘The last wheel of the car’
Via social media, Carlos Tenorio, president of the Ecuadorian Footballers’ Association (AFE), publicly supported Arroyo not being injured or suspended as possible reasons for the non-call.
“As long as the leaders think that the player is the last wheel in the car and they are the protagonists, our football will not improve. Every time a player demands his rights, it’s bad,” he wrote Demolition man on his Twitter account last Friday.
Tenorio questioned that some EMelecistas fans are criticizing Arroyo’s claim. I see that some fans are angry with Dixon Arroyo because he is demanding his rights, but I don’t see any presentation of the contract he signed with the club, to know what the player demands. Ask Emelec and Pro League”. said the former chosen one, player of the World Cup in Japan – South Korea in 2002 and Germany in 2006.
More complaints from Arroyo
Arroyo revealed about his complaint on the portal studiofutbol that he was not given the possibility of a solution when trying to talk with millionaire managers. “I wrote to the president, vice president, manager, coordinator and no one gave me the reason (for my payments). The only thing they told me was that they would not pay me, and that is not the case because the signed amounts must be paid, priority or not. Because if not for those two months, I could work with another team and I don’t think the team will allow that,” said the electric flyer.
In his latest tweet about the Arroyo case, the AFE president said: “Little by little, the players are realizing what the purpose was. The Federation and the League want to create a dictatorship so that football players cannot claim their rights as required by their contracts. The resolution must be regulated”. (D)
