Germany’s Thomas Tuchel admitted that he still feels bitter about his resignation from Chelsea. Not now Bayern Munchenthe coach revealed that he received the notice of his dismissal at eight in the morning, in a meeting that lasted just three minutes.
The resignation came after Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, on American Todd Boehly’s 100th day as owner of the club. The German coach revealed that he was shocked to receive the news.
“I felt strange when I arrived at the CT. The decision was made and, honestly, it was a shock for all of us. We had the feeling that we could achieve great things if we continued together”, said Tuchel in an interview with Sportsmail.
The German also commented that he had a great relationship with the professionals of the English club team and that he was upset with the dismissal.
“We had a great relationship with the people on the team, we still do. How long did it take for me to get over it? It still hurts, in a way. I love this job and I’m passionate about it. We started during covid and Brexit and we built a very strong bond , despite the circumstances,” he said.
The relationship seems to be so good that the German coach wants to bring one of his pupils from the English club to Germany. Mason Mount, who has not had a good season, could reinforce Bayern Munich next season.
Thomas Tuchel has not yet spoken to Julian Nagelsmann, the last coach of the Bavarians. However, the ex-Chelsea forward spoke about his restart in Munich and was optimistic about the future of the German team.
“It’s been a really tough week. But there’s no more fun place in football than the dressing room. There’s so much joy, spirit and fun in there. That’s what I missed most (at Chelsea),” he said. “Now I’m here, I found a new challenge. I’m happy to be in such an ambitious and big club. We can build a great strength together”, added Tuchel.
Bayern Munich takes the field this Saturday, at 13:30 (BrasÃlia time), against Borussia Dortmund, for the German Championship. The clash marks Tuchel’s reunion with the Dortmund club, the team he coached from 2015 to 2017. In addition, the Bavarians are looking for victory to reassume the lead.
