In Brazil, they reported that they did not receive a request for a match with the Russian national team
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) spoke about the possible holding of a friendly match against the Russian national football team. It is reported by “Match TV”.
The organization reported that they had not received an official request from Russia. “In order to analyze the technical feasibility of holding a match with the Russian national team, a document of interest from the Russian Football Union (RFU) is needed,” the CBF noted.
Earlier on March 31, RFU President Alexander Dyukov said that the Russian team could meet with players from Asia, Africa and Latin America. “Sooner or later we will play with Europe, but I would not be in a hurry to say that we will play some kind of match in June,” the functionary said.
On February 28, 2022, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. Domestic teams do not play in European competitions, and the Russian team was deprived of the opportunity to compete for reaching the finals of the 2022 World Cup.
