Japan from April 7 introduces a ban on the export of steel, aluminum and products from them to Russia. It is reported by RBC with reference to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of the country.

Japan also extended the decision to deprive Russia of the status of a favorable nation in trade until 2024. Preferential regime Tokyo canceled last March. Imports from countries not on the MFN list are subject to a basic tariff.

Japan, together with Western countries, has been imposing sanctions against Russia since the start of the special operation in Ukraine.
