The Russian national football team can play with teams from Asia, Africa and Latin America
President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov named the next possible rivals for the Russian national team in international friendly matches. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“The list includes countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America. Sooner or later we will play with Europe, but I would not be in a hurry to say that we will play some kind of match in June, ”Dyukov said.
On March 26, Russian football players defeated the Iraqi team with a score of 2:0 in a friendly match. Earlier, the Russian team played a 1-1 draw with Iran.
On February 28, 2022, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. Domestic teams do not play in European competitions, and the Russian team was deprived of the opportunity to compete for reaching the finals of the 2022 World Cup.
