The psychologist described Karpin’s behavior with the phrase “wants to be begged to stay.”

Sports psychologist Vadim Gushchin shared his opinion about the words of Valery Karpin about the possible resignation from the post of head coach of the Russian national team. This is reported by “Championship.com”.

Gushchin noted that Karpin really does not want to make a decision on his own, but is waiting for the public’s reaction. “With his behavior, the coach wanted to achieve one goal – so that the whole country would beg him to stay,” the specialist believes.

The psychologist said that Karpin is a classic example of a person who wants everything to be done for him. Gushchin stressed that the coach expects “a direct recommendation to stay with the national team.”

In addition, the specialist noted that Karpin would just as well have been glad if he had been fired. The coach, most likely, agrees to everything, the main thing is to avoid responsibility. But it cannot be denied that Karpin wants more “everyone to fall on their knees and beg him to stay.”

On November 15, Karpin allowed his departure from the team. A day earlier, the Russian national team lost to Croatia (0: 1) and missed the chance to directly qualify for the 2022 World Cup. For the right to play at the World Cup, the team will compete in the play-offs.
