“The players gave themselves on the field all the time and against a very difficult team. Due to Ramadan, they can only eat after 6:15 pm.
We had to stop the game for a few minutes so they could eat something. Everyone responded very well when there was a need and we achieved our first objective. It is one more step towards the dream of going to 2024 Paris Olympics”, explains Micale, who led the Brazilian team to win the gold medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
who adds: “We are in a position to hold a great competition in Morocco. Egypt has a promising generation. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who was present and helped in our goal. We will continue to work very hard to reach our next challenges well”.
The African Teams Cup will feature the top 8 teams in this knockout phase. The top three follow Paris 2024 directly, and a fourth team can get a berth through play-offs.
