Harry Kane scores as England beat Ukraine in Euro qualifiers

This Sunday, the England hosted Ukraine for the Euro 2024 qualifiers and won 2-0, with goals from Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka in the first half.

The English team added their second victory in the Qualifiers and reached six points conquered, keeping the top of group C. Ukraine, who made their debut, is still zero and is in the bottom.

The next game for Gareth Southgate’s national team will be on June 16, against Malta, away from home. Ukraine, like England, will return to the field only on June 16, against North Macedonia, also far from their dominions. Both commitments are for the Euro Cup qualifiers.

The game

England started with a certain difficulty to create chances in the attack, but little by little they loosened up. Ukraine, on the other hand, only took danger in a punctual move, in the 14th minute, but which was correctly annulled for offside. At 37 minutes, top scorer Harry Kane opened the scoring and opened the way for England, who doubled in a great goal by Saka from outside the area just two minutes later.

In the second half, the pace of the game dropped and the match became slower, with fewer chances created around the break. In a friendly atmosphere, the duel was heading towards the end with rare dangerous goal opportunities in the final stage. In the final minutes, Gareth Southgate’s team put pressure on the opponent, but did not reach the third goal.
