The players of the Brazilian national team are going to honor the greatest idol of world football in the friendly match against Morocco, this Saturday, at 7 pm (Brasília time), in Tangier, Morocco. The “Amarelinha” will have Pelé’s name engraved just below the number of each athlete.
The friendly match in Tangier is the first game for the Brazilian team after the star’s death, at the end of December last year.
Before the start of the match, the CBF will also honor Pelé. The organizers of the friendly will ask for a minute of applause in reverence for the idol. During the match, the organization will print images of the only three-time champion in the world on the advertising signs around the field.
The series of tributes to the greatest soccer player in the world was conceived by the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues.
“Pelé is the greatest player of all time and deserves to be remembered forever by the CBF. Pelé’s legacy will always be celebrated during my tenure”, said the manager, who completed a year in charge of the entity last Thursday.
