Hodgson, 75, who replaces Frenchman Patrick Vieira, said his “only aim” was to keep Crystal Palace in the top flight.
The coach, who has already passed through the club in 2017 and 2021, takes over the team in 12th place on the leaderboard, with three points above the relegation zone, after a negative streak of 12 games without victory.
“It is a privilege to be invited back to the club, which has always been important to me, and to see how I am entrusted with the important task of managing the team’s situation,” Hodgson said in a statement.
“Our only objective now is to start winning games and get the points we need to secure our place in the Premier League,” explained the coach, who has managed Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and Finland.
Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish welcomed Hodgson’s return by saying his experience could be crucial to the team not being relegated in the league. Premier League.
Among his career achievements, Hodgson has four Swedish Championship titles and one Danish Championship. In addition, he was runner-up in the Europa League in 1997 (when it was called the UEFA Cup) with Inter Milan and in 2010 with Fulham.
