Erling Haaland will not be available for the Norway national team in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. The player was cut after confirming an adductor injury and released by the team to return to England.
The striker was injured in the victory of the Manchester City about Burnley, at English Championship. In the match, Haaland scored three goals and was substituted in the 18th minute of the second half.
“We were hoping that it was just a familiarity that would last until Saturday, but after doing tests and examinations it was clear that he will not go to the games. It’s better that he has medical care at the club”, said the team’s doctor, Ola Sand.
Norway will have two engagements this month. The first takes place next Saturday against Spain. Three days later, the team will face Georgia.
With the injury, Haaland also becomes a doubt for City itself, which faces Liverpool on April 1, at 8:30 am (Brasília time). The team led by Pep Guardiola, in second place with 61 points, follows the lead Arsenalwhich adds up to 69.
With the latest goals scored, the Norwegian already has an incredible 42 goals in 37 matches this season. In addition, the 22-year-old player broke the record for being the youngest, and with the fewest games, to score 30 goals in Champions League.
