Pittsburgh Penguins Russian forward Evgeni Malkin has improved his position in the list of top scorers in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL). Statistics are available on the Quant Hockey website.
In a 2-1 win against the Ottawa Senators, the 36-year-old forward scored 1,219 points (468 goals and 751 assists) in 1,051 league games. This allowed the Russian to rise to 44th place in the list of top scorers in the NHL and catch up in this indicator with the ten-time Stanley Cup winner in the Montreal Canadiens Jean Beliveau. The Canadian reached 1219 points (507 goals and 712 passes) in 1125 games.
On March 10, Malkin set Pittsburgh’s club record in the NHL. In the first period of the regular season match against the New York Islanders (3:4), he received a two-minute suspension. Thus, the Russian had 1050 penalty minutes in Pittsburgh, which made him the club’s record holder in terms of their number.
Malkin has been playing in the NHL since 2006. Throughout his career, he has played for Pittsburgh. Together with the team, the Russian won the Stanley Cup three times.
