Porto draws with Braga and sees Benfica increase their advantage at the top of the Portuguese

This Sunday, Braga and Porto tied goalless in a match valid for the 25th round of the Portuguese Championshipwhich took place at the Estádio Municipal de Braga.

With the result, the positions of the teams in the table did not change. Porto remained in the second position of the Portuguese, with 58 points, but saw the distance to the leader Benfica, who won the round, increase to 10 points. Braga is right behind, in third place, with 56.

The two teams return to the field on April 2, Sunday, for the 26th round of the Portuguese Championship. Porto receives Portimonense, at Estádio do Dragão, and Braga visits Chaves, at Estádio Municipal de Chaves. Both matches have yet to be scheduled.

The game

In the first half, Braga had more of the ball. At 15 minutes, Bruma sent a strong kick, but Diogo Costa defended. Despite the superiority in possession of the ball, the home team failed to open the scoring during the initial 45 minutes.

In the second stage, Porto balanced the game. In the 4th minute, in a corner kick, the Brazilian Wenderson Galeno received a header and made a beautiful volley, forcing Matheus, Braga’s goalkeeper who is also from Brazil, to make a great save.
