Laso and Imaz, first finalists of the Couples Championship

Laso and Imaz have qualified for the final of the Couples Championship after beating Peña and Mariezkurrena (22-15) this Sunday Altuna and Tolosa. Therefore, the striker from Navarre and the defender from Gipuzkoa will play in the final of the Navarra Arena on April 2.
Baiko’s couple defeated on the first day Altuna and Tolosa by 22-21. The match was spectacular, those from Aspe went ahead 12-4. Laso and Imaz improved in their game and came back with a partial of 9-0. The blues, however, did not give up and managed to get the score in favor again. However, the match was even 21-21and in the end, Laso and Imaz took the point.
On the second day, Laso and Imaz prevailed from the start against Elordi and Zabaleta. The Mallabia striker was not fine. Those of Baiko put on 15-10 ahead, but those from Aspe were able to respond and the crash equaled 19. Laso, however, did not want to lose the work done previously and scored the last three goals himself, leaving qualifying for the final practically closed.
With two victories Laso-Imaz was waiting for the victory of Altuna and Tolosa and thanks to the victory of the Gipuzkoans, Baiko’s couple is the first finalist of the Couples Championship.
Altuna-Tolosa vs. Elordi-Zabaleta, the fight for the final
Altuna-Tolosa and Elordi-Zabaleta will play for the second ticket for the final. And it is that, with a victory for each couple, they will meet on the last day of the Couples Championship at the Bizkaia fronton in Bilbao.
Altuna and Tolosa, after defeating Peña and Mariezkurrena, make sure they reach the last day with options to qualify. And it is that both couples reached the second with the matches of the first day lost. With this result, also Peña and Mariezkurrena run out of options.
