The game
Bayer Leverkusen started the match better. In the 15th minute of the first stage, in a quick move, Jeremie Frimpong received the through ball, dribbled the defender and kicked low into the corner. The ball just didn’t go in because Yann Sommer made a great save.
Despite this, at the 21st minute, Bayern, who were just watching the hosts play, showed up and in their first finalization of the match, opened the scoring with Kimmich, who received it inside the area and kicked hard. The ball still deflected in Kossounou, taking Lukas Hradecky, goalkeeper of Leverkusen, out of the play.
Even after being at a disadvantage, the team led by former Spanish player Xabi Alonso continued to attack, looking for quick plays, mainly on the right side. Bayern, however, with the goal, gained confidence and balanced the match.
In the second half, Leverkusen maintained the aggressive posture of the first half and, in the 8th minute, Adli received a stomp inside the area. After reviewing the bid by VAR, the penalty was scored. In the collection, the Argentine Palacios left everything the same for the hosts.
At 16, Adli was knocked down again in the area. The match judge appealed to VAR and marked a new penalty. Palacios repeated the dose and turned the match over to Bayer Leverkusen.
At the end of the game, Bayern Munich started to pressure in search of a draw, but stopped in Hradecky, who closed the goal. Thus, the match ended with victory for Leverkusen.
