Russian skier Sergei Ustyugov fell on the last lap of the skiathlon at the Russian Championship, which takes place in Tyumen. It is reported by “Sport-Express”.

The athlete was in second place, less than a second behind the leader Alexander Bolshunov. On one of the turns Ustyugov stumbled and lost his balance.

The skier managed to get up quickly, but he fell behind Bolshunov and could not prevent him from winning. Ustyugov finished second, five seconds back.

On December 27 last year, Bolshunov and Ustyugov collided during the freestyle sprint at the fifth stage of the Russian Cup in Krasnogorsk. Athletes, being in leading positions, hit each other on the descent and fell. As a result, Bolshunov smashed his face. After the incident, he stated that Ustyugov cut him off on purpose.
