Lineker had been suspended for not agreeing with UK immigration policy. the direction of BBC considered that the commentator should be neutral on social networks, like all his journalists.
The removal provoked an outcry from his colleagues at the British public broadcaster, who refused to participate in last weekend’s transmissions.
On Monday, the BBC backtracked and announced that Lineker would return to its schedule. He is the host of the popular show “Match of the Day”but will not participate in this weekend’s edition due to his trip to Manchester.
The broadcaster has committed to revising its rules on the use of social networks by its employees.
