Osasuna, Gold Medal of Navarra 2021

The Foral Government has granted the Gold Medal of Navarre / Gold Medal of Navarre 2021 to the Osasuna Athletic Club, which last year celebrated its centenary, for its “contribution to the social and territorial cohesion of all Navarrese.”

The agreement, adopted in a government session, has been announced at a press conference by the spokesperson and vice president of the Executive, Javier Remirez, who has pointed out that the award will be delivered by the president Maria Chivite in the main institutional act held on the occasion of December 3, Navarra Day.

As stated in the decree granting this award, the highest decoration of the Autonomous Community, “the Osasuna Athletic Club is a sports entity with great social roots in Navarra, which last year celebrated its Centenary”.

The text of the decree highlights that “Osasuna has been and is for Navarrese society something more than a sports institution. It is a feeling that contributes to the social and territorial cohesion of all Navarrese and Navarrese in a Foral Community characterized by its diversity and its plurality “.

The Government of Navarra learned on November 10 of the three proposals submitted by the award jury (Aspace, Club Atlético Osasuna and surgeon Juan Miguel Gil Jaurena), after having received several applications submitted by entities or individuals. The one from the rojillo club was presented by the CD Xota through its president Jose Antonio Arregui.

The Navarra Gold Medal is the highest distinction with which the Foral Community recognizes people, institutions, entities and groups that have stood out for their contribution to the improvement of society, the consolidation of democratic values ​​and the external projection of Navarra .

In this way, Osasuna becomes part of the list of 37 people or entities that since 1982 have received the highest award from the Autonomous Community.
